First one for February's 30 in 30!

February 1, 2018 Mixed Media on Paper

Compromise... LoL
Before adding a little more to the flower.
Hi Myra,

The top painting is the first piece I'm submitting to the 30 in 30 for February. I spent quite a bit of time thinking that this was going nowhere, then... out of the blue, I surprised myself. I'm still not sure if it's finished... so I'm going to sleep on it, but I'm posting it as the first painting anyway!! Life is too short as far as I know....

Talk to you tomorrow!

  1. I think that this is a very beautiful painting. The first thing that struck me was that I could see a sunflower. Then it seems as if it could also be a beautiful underwater scene with the golden sunflowers looking like colorful fish in the ocean. I saw a lot of visuals and colors that I liked very very much!

  3. Yes! It looks like a Brown-eye Susan flower underwater with a gold colored fish swooping up to grab that blossom for lunch! My fish used to jump up to bite into my just-about-ready-to-bloom water lilies when I had a pond! Gorgeous colors and drips here.

  4. Love it! I see a large flower as the focal point and then an area of flowers and greenery below and around it. Happy PPF!

  7. Hi, I too love this painting.
I can see a translucent butterfly on the right hand flower stalk - or maybe that's Beth's fairy? Such wonderful depth to this painting, I would love to go exploring through that beautiful place.
    Happy PPF!

Love your water lily and its history, wow. I also love the birdhouse you received for Christmas... I know we just met but,...may I use the birdhouse photo as inspiration for a painting I'm working on? : )
